Fishing and Angling at Corbett

The Corbett National Park is known as the Land of Tiger's roar. You may get the chance to angle a shy slippery creature called the Mahaseer. Mahaseer means 'big mouth' is no ordinary fish particularly Golden Mahaseer. This fish is very special for any avid angler. These elusive fishes provides the toughest challenge in fresh water fishing and because of these fishes the Corbett National Park has become an important fishing destination.
You may go to river Ramaganga flowing through the Wild Corbett forests where you can find Mahaseer,and which creates a beautiful settings for angling.

Besides the Ramaganga,the River Kosi can offer its own Mahaseer challenge. The two types of Mahaseer are black and silver. The other challenger is the Goonch,a fresh water scavenger.
During October-November and April-June,the water of the river gets warm,which make these period ideally suited for angling.
You need prior permission from the Forest officials for angling in these waters.
